    Coaching Carousel

rumor is that Indiana has selected Kelvin Sampson as their next coach...i'll believe it when i see it b/c that seems pretty much out of nowhere

also the coach from George Washington is headed out to Cincinnati

That is a shocker. I figured Sampson was pretty happy in OU, unless he was feeling some fire for their lackluster performance this past season.

I think Alfred would have been the better choice myself. I have just never been impressed with Sampson.

Alford has been subpar at Iowa though, honestly...what has he done?

Sampson is a very good fit...i just would have never thought of him

    Re: Coaching Carousel

I know Sampson is a good coach, even going back to his days at washington state. The big question will be if he can recruit well enough to win big there. Oklahoma wasnt exactly eeking with talent. They really havent been the same since the Hollis Price/Ebi Erre days.

well they got a couple good ones this year, it'll be interesting to see what they do now...Scottie Reynolds out of VA especially, he said his reason of going to OU was Sampson, with him gone i have heard he is shopping around to VT, GMU, UVa, IU and still taking a look at going back to OU

Alfrod has had a few good runs nothing special I'll admit. But what has Sampson really done?

    Re: Coaching Carousel

Sampson has at least made 1 final four I believe. I think Alford is getting a little bit of a bum wrap because of the tourny loss. Has he done anything? No, but he has not had the amount of talent a lot of his competition in the Big 10 IMO. Other than Pierce, who was suspended for a time, who has really been a top player, or would have been in most other programs?

Now, that also may be a reflection in his recruiting, which could be flawed though.
